Results Round Up

This week we have results to round up for you from Exeter, Perth Scotland, Boston USA, Newport & Margam Park.

Sunday 8th January Will Phillips runs 41.23 for 10km in Exeter, well done Will!

Saturday 14th January was round 3 of the British Cross Challenge in Perth, Scotland, where we had just the one runner, one of our club superstars Kristian Jones who had a great run to finish 2nd on the day over a very tough course underfoot and some equally tough opponents, well done Kristian!

Sunday 15th January Steffan Jones runs 22.42 over 200m indoors in Boston USA where he is studying, well done Steffan!

Sunday 15th January was the Lliswerry 8 Mile Road Race at Newport where we had four runners and all four performed excellently, Jonathan Butler had a fantastic run to win the race in 39.58; Marc Hobbs joined him on the podium placing 3rd in 42.06; just behind was Matthew Harvey in 5th 42.13 and 12th Geraint Williams in a time of 44.17, well done all!

Wednesday 18th January was the Afan Nedd Tawe Secondary Schools and Colleges cross country championships held at Margam Park. An excellent 482 pupils ran in very tough underfoot conditions and ideal weather conditions for cross country. Several of our field eventers and sprinters were spotted running too, amazing the lengths they’ll go to, to get a day off school! Highlights included top 3 placings for:

Year 7 Girls: 1st Georgie Bo Davies, 2nd Taylor Shelmerdine & 3rd Ella Drew.

Year 7 Boys: 1st Oliver Hale & 2nd Thomas Maclean.

Year 8&9 Girls: 1st Libby Hale, 2nd Chloe Hartley-Green, 3rd Holly Humphreys.

Year 8&9 Boys: 3rd Sam Rees.

Years 10 to 14 Girls: 2nd Ava Davies & 3rd Sophie Hartley-Green.

Years 10 to 14 Boys: 1st Morgan Willis.
