Results Round Up
This week we have results to round up for you from Istanbul TURKEY, Rhayader, Pontypool, Tokyo JAPAN, Newport, Cardiff, Trafford, Barry & Horspath:
Saturday 4th March was Rhayader Round The Lakes 10Km & 30km road races where in the 30km we had two runners SW 287th Angela Delaney (3.32.01) and SW Victoria Williams in 292nd (3.33.14) very well done both!
Saturday 4th March was the 5th and final round of the John Collins Gwent Cross Country League at Pontypool Park. Our thanks to all those who made it to represent the club in this fantastic team competition. Here is how they all got on:
U11B: Were out en mass with 11 finishers a fantastic turnout! First home was 11th Isaac Mcadie followed home by; 27th Finley Davies; 39th Edward Lyle-Williams; 57th Dylan Wakely; 58th Theo Lewis-Wright; 59th Bo Cuthbertson; 66th Drew Smith; 74th Tomi Jones; 80th Thomas Morgan; 86th Harison Davies and 92nd Dhruv Mummigatti, the boys did really well to finish 5th in the league!
U11G: had two finishers with 19th Poppy Brannigan and 42nd Gwenann Gruffydd, the team ended the season 13th in the league!
U13B: had the one runner with 12th Osian Morgan. The team ended the season in 8th in the league.
U13G: had just the one runner too with 43rd Tabitha Ventress-Brett. The team ended the season in 6th in the league.
U15B: had one runner with 27th Jack Sullivan. The team ended the season 24th in the league.
U15G: were the highlight of the day and season with Holly Humphreys having a superb run to win, hot on her heels in 2nd was Millie Pierce; 5th was Chloe Hartley-Green and 31st Imogen Mcadie. The whole team this season was so good they won the league nearly 150 points ahead of their nearest rivals, well done girls you were amazing!
U17M: Joshua Pritchard finished 22nd and the team 7th in the league.
U17W: Sophie Hartley-Green had a great run for 4th and Natalie Coughlan in 17th. The team ended the season 5th in a very closely fought league.
U20M & U20W: No runners.
SM retained their place in Division 1 by placing 9th in the league, with 123rd Owen Davies; 151st Gair Mcadie and 205th Simon Merrick who all ran at Pontypool.
SW also retained their place in Division 1 by placing 6th in the league, thanks to our sole runner at Pontypool 8th Sophia Harrison!

Sunday 5th March one of our club Hall Of Famers Joseph Brier had a superb run in the European Indoor Athletics Championships in Istanbul Turkey, for the Great Britain & Northern Ireland 4 x 400m team on 2nd Leg in a split of 46.99 in a robust race with lots of bumps for the team, eventually placing 5th just behind the Spanish Team in 4th. Very many congratulations Joseph on a much deserved GB&NI vest to add to your growing collection.
Sunday 5th March SM Simon Lewis runs a 2.34.51 PB for the Marathon in Tokyo, Japan, well done Simon!
Sunday 5th March eight Swansea Harriers made it around the Newport Half Marathon, with Charles Walsh home first in (1.81.46) followed home by; Sioned Howells (1.19.27) who had a superb run to win the Women’s race; Simon Brewer (1.21.31); Ben Smith (1.22.11); Luticia Thomas (1.28.38); Steven Taylor also (1.28.38); Tina Gabb (1.51.06) and Sian Phillips (1.53.04). Very well done everyone!
Sunday 5th March was the Vault Cardiff indoor Pole Vault competition where the club was well represented with eighteen vaulters! Or top 5 Men and Women were:
Men: SM Ieuan Hosgood (4.23m); U20M Harry Newton (3.93m); M55 Glyn Price 3.68m); U17M Louis Shuall (3.43m) & Charlie Shuall (3.43m).
Women: U20W Millie Carter (3.43m); SW Megan Morris (2.73m); Rebekah Pratt (2.53m); U15G Ruby Campion (2.43m) Pole Vault & U17W Seren Anderson-James (2.33m).

Sunday 5th March was the Trafford 10km where Morgan James ran 31.25 and Joshua Morgan 34.27, well done both!
Sunday 5th March was the Barry 40 Mile Track Race incorporating the Welsh Ultra Track Marathon Championships, yes you read it correctly 40 miles of a 400m track = only 161 of them, where SM Daniel Rothwell finished 2nd but was the first Welsh athlete home to win GOLD in a time of 3.59.56, well done Daniel!!
Sunday 5th March M65 Chris Pruski throws a 28.72m Javelin to finish in SILVER medal position at the British Masters throws championships at Horspath, well done Chris!
