Results Round Up
Two fixtures to round up results from this week for you the Pembrey 5km and Welsh U13, U17 & U20 Junior Championships including an all time Welsh Record and one club record!
Saturday 31st July was the Welsh 5km Road Race at Pembrey where the club was well represented, where in the Men’s A race Marc Hobbs was first home in 3rd in a time of 15:17 followed across the line by 4th William Munday 15:23; 11th Craig Jones 16:17; 13th Geraint Williams 16:18 and 26th Ifan Lloyd 17:05. In the B race Paul Flynn was first home for the club placing 7th in 17:54; followed by 16th Owen Davies 18:15; 25th Steve Smith 18:59; 27th Tom Bacon 19:19; 28th Simon Coombes 19:43 and 29th Paul Llewellyn 19:44. The women’s race saw 5 finishers for the club with quickest being 7th Llinos Jones 19:45 followed home by 9th Sophie Hartley-Green 20:36; 11th Jessica Smith 20:57; 16th Nina Brocklebank 22:01 and 18th Kelly Gipson 22:41.
The weekend of Saturday 31st & Sunday 1st August were the Welsh U13, U17 & U20 Championships held at Newport, we didn’t quite have the usual pre Covid 19 high turnouts and therefore medal haul, nevertheless those that were able to represent the club all did a fantastic job coming away with plenty of season and personal bests as well as great championship experiences:
13 GOLD: U20M Thomas Payne 10.82 100m; U13B Ruairi Harris 27.73 200m; U13G Libby Hale 2.23.33 800m & 4.44.35 1500m which was also an all time Welsh Record!!; U17M Joseph Beresford 61.63 400m Hurdles; U17M Aled Tumelty 4.49.35 1500m Steeplechase; U13G Martha Caldwell 1.29m High Jump; U20M Noah Osborne 3.73m Pole Vault; U17M William Trott 4.20m Pole Vault; U17M Dylan Morgan 12.18m Triple Jump; U20M Oscar Dun 39.65m Discus & 13.61m Shot which was also an all time club record, well done Oscar! and U13B Theo Santimano 18.53m Javelin.
