Swansea Harriers off-track Summer League 2023 Standings

With most of July’s training and races complete, here’s a quick update in the Swansea Harriers Summer Off Track League positions. The Rabbit Run race results are still to be published, but you can see there are some interesting placings showing the strength in seniors and masters after age-grading results.

In the men’s, in 3rd place currently is M70 Alan Davies who is ranked Number 1 in his age category in the UK – his times at the Ammanford 10km and the Paul Popham Summer 5km series are just a few seconds outside the World Record for his Age category!! Alan is currently in 3rd, but once the Rabbit Run results are in, it will be even closer at the top of the league at the halfway stage between M40 Steven Taylor and M50 Heath Brett. Looks like this will be a good competition when you look at the other names in the top 10! These include Dewi Griffiths in 5th, coming back to his very best. Finishing off our top 10 placed runners to date are 4th Sam Joseph; 6th M40 Ake Fagerang; 7th M60 Paul Llewellyn; 8th M35 Andrew Cleverly and joint 9th M35 Matthew Rees and M35 Tom Morris.

In the Women’s. consistent racing has accumulated enough points for Tori Barry to hold the top spot over Sioned Howells and W40 Llinos Jones in 2nd and 3rd. With June and July bringing some strong race results for many runners e.g. Porthcawl 10km, Swansea Half Marathon, Cardiff SAFA 5km, the league looks like it will bring out the best out of our runners and provide some lively competition in the weeks to come. Finishing off our top 10 placed runners to date are 4th W50 Nina Brocklebank; 5th W35 Luticia Thomas; 6th Millie Thorne; 7th Hannah Williams; 8th W45 Julie Hartley-Green; 9th W40 Lois Woodward and 10th Ashleigh Willis.
