Imminent closing dates for schools cross country and indoor athletics championships

With restrictions on gatherings for sport now significantly eased, the fixture calendar is evolving rapidly, therefore it is important to check the annual fixtures page every two or three days so that you don’t miss out on any competitions you would like to participate in on or off track.

There are three imminent events scheduled outlined below, for schools cross country runners and our track and field indoor athletes across all age groups. The entry links are now open, with a very, very short turnaround time until entries close, so don’t miss out!

Wednesday 26th January sees the first schools event for over two years with the Afan Nedd Tawe Secondary Schools & Colleges cross country championships at Margam Park. Athletes MUST be brought by PE staff to be able to run, this is also the selection event for the ANT team to run in the Welsh Schools cross country championships at Brecon on Saturday 12th February, which in turn acts as the selection race for the Welsh Schools team in the U15 & U17 age groups to compete against England, Scotland & Irish Schools on 26th March in Pembrey. Entries close midnight this Sunday 23rd January for the Welsh U15 (School years 8 & 9) & Senior Indoor Championships at Cardiff, CF23 6XD which are being held over the weekend of Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th January. Senior age group events will allow U17 & U20 athletes move up to take part as a Senior athlete, if they enter hurdles or shot will use senior 60m hurdle heights and spacings as well as the senior shot weights.
