Saturday 10th May West Wales Championships @ Swansea

Entries are now open for the West Wales Regional Athletics Championships on Saturday 10th May at home in Swansea. There has already been over 140 athletes from the club make entries at the time of posting, but don’t wait too much longer as several events have already sold out and there is a closing Date Wednesday 30th April @ 23:59. Entry Fee £6.00 per event
NOTE: Athletes must be registered with their club to enter (which was due on 1st April). Athletes are asked to only enter events that they intend taking part in on competition day, taking into account event clashes / possible heats and finals in races up to and including 400m.
Maximum of 3 events per athlete. U13 & U15 athletes can only compete in one from the 800m, 1500m, 3000m (U15) or 1000m Walk on the same competition day.
Field events: 3 trials for U13 & U15 athletes. 4 trials for U17, U20 & Senior athletes.
Eligibility: IMPORTANT: This is a closed championship for West Wales eligible athletes only, no guests are permitted. To participate in the West Wales championships all athletes must be registered to their club & Welsh Athletics, in addition must have one of the following qualifications:
A – Birth; the athlete having been born in West Wales (Dyfed or West Glamorgan).
B – Residence; a minimum of 9 months continuous residence in West Wales immediately prior to this event.
Entries will be accepted from Swansea University students – but must be registered with their club and meet the criteria above.

Events:
Track Events 75m (u11), 100m, 200m, 300m/400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 1000m Walk, Sprint Hurdles, 300m/400m Distance Hurdles, 1500m/2000m Steeplechase
Please note we have been unable to secure photo finish, therefore all track times will be hand timed.
Field Events: Pole Vault, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put, Javelin, Discus, Hammer
Age Groups:
U13 Boys & Girls = School Years 6 & 7
U15 Boys & Girls = School Years 8 & 9
U17 Men & Women = School Years 10 & 11
U20 Men & Women = School Years 12, 13 & 14
Seniors
Medals: will be presented to the top three athletes in each age group & gender (from under 13 to seniors), Masters compete in the Senior age group at these championships including using the senior throwing implement weights.
Heats and finals may be required for distances up to and including 400m depending on entry numbers.
