West Glamorgan Primary Schools Indoor and Outdoor Athletics Competitions

The West Glamorgan Primary Schools Indoor Athletics League commences in the next few weeks. Please find below the affiliation forms for both the indoor and outdoor track & field athletics leagues and area sports for 2018. These forms should be returned directly to the coordinator Ann Owen whose address is on the form, if your school wishes to affiliate and take part. Please feel free to print as pass these details to the teacher in charge of Athletics and or PE in your childs school.

Results Round Up From Cardiff, (Margam Park) & Elsewhere

Saturday 27th January were the Welsh Senior Indoor Athletics Championships held at Cardiff, incorporating a handful of junior championship events. There wasn’t a huge entry from the club nevertheless what we lacked in quantity we more than made for in quality! Our thanks to everyone who took part. Swansea Harriers Annual Awards Evening - Last remaining tickets.

Tickets are almost sold out for the Swansea Harriers Annual Awards Evening, which will take place at The Village Hotel, SA1 8QY, on Friday 2nd March at 7pm. The cost of the evening is £22pp (£11 for under 16s) and includes a hog roast. Reservation forms can be obtained from the club cafe or by email from wendy_slade@sky.com. All payments need to be received by Tuesday 30th January or before the allocation is used up whichever occurs first!

The Magnificent Seven

Team Wales today announced their teams and athletes to represent Wales in the Commonwealth Games at the Gold Coast Australia in April. We are over the moon, just a their coaches, friends and family are to report that seven Swansea Harriers have been selected.

Martin Hudson

The club regrets to announce the passing of former member Martin Hudson at age just 46 on new years eve peacefully at Ty Olwen. Martin was a member for many years during the 1980's, a prolific junior sprinter, very regular team member and dedicated clubman, with his some of his most noteworthy performances being Welsh Schools international representations in 1988 over 400m in the U17M, and again in 1989 as an U20M.
